Here for sale is a Fender Mustang 2002 Candy Apple Red guitar that is made in Japan and comes with a Tweed Hardshell Case and tremolo arm.
This Mustang features an Alder body, gloss polyester finish, maple neck, 24″ scale length with a ROSWOD fretboard. It has 22 frets, approximately 40.84mm / 1.6075″ nut width, 21.17mm / 0.8335″ neck thickness at the first fret and 24.79mm / 0.976″ at the 12th fret. It has a C shape contour, 7.25mm neck radius, 2.09mm / 0.082″ fret width and 1.17mm / 0.046″ deep. The guitar weighs approx 3.330KG. The two single coil pick ups sound excellent with great vintage tones, suitable for rock to blues and everything in between. The finish of the guitar really pops an the Candy Apple Red has hint of metallic to it and the matching headstock really sets it off. Fender Japan made a very limited run of these and matching headstock Competition Mustang’s are very hard come by. This guitar is based on the run of Mustang’s post CBS in the late ’60’s and were some of the best models that were put out with the matching headstock’s and this guitar is a great tribute to that time period. It feels just like a vintage Mustang and vintage tuners and of course the iconic racing stripes reminiscent of ‘1960’s muscle cars. The guitar is a fantastic player and is in great condition with light play wear, there are some scratches on the back and a tiny hairline crack in the neck pocket which is very common with Fender guitars, but this all gives the guitar rock ‘n’ roll character and mojo. A killer sounding and rare Competition Mustang in a gorgeous finish.
