Here for sale is a Squier Fender Venus 12 String in black guitar with a vintage 1960’s Fender Tweed Case. This guitar was formerly owned by the Jimi Hendrix Experience Bassist Noel Redding.

The guitar was used by Noel Redding in his post Jimi Hendrix Career in the Noel Redding Experience, aswell as composing his music and in the studio. The 12 string sound was an important element of his sound and he loved this guitar. The guitar is accompanied by a signed letter from Noel’s estate who were entrusted with the sale of his possessions after his untimely passing in 2003. The guitar is in good condition and is exactly the way Noel left after playing one of his last gigs at the Clonakilty at De Barras pub in Ireland. The guitar was strung by Noel and interestingly features a bronze wound G string as opposed to the standard electric 12 strings, the original packet of which is still in the case. Perhaps this created a special twang or maybe he snapped the original string at a concert and had to improvise with this acoustic string! The guitar also comes with a vintage Fender tweed case from the 1960’s, with various flight stickers on it indicating it’s touring use. Perhaps it was once owned by a certain band mate of his Jimi Hendrix perhaps. The case is in full working order. At one time it was also serviced by ‘Soundworks Professional Craftsmen – 10/42 New Wt. Ringwood 3134 Telephone 03 879 1747 which we tracked down to being Victoria Australia.
The guitar has a bit of dirt around the bridge but due to the celebrity nature of the guitar we left it just the way Noel Redding did, but it could be cleaned up nicely if desired. The Squier Venus 12 String is a rare and collectible guitar in it’s own right that was designed by Courtney Love of Hole, Kurt Cobain’s wife. This Venus 12 String dates from 1997. The guitar was made in Japan and is very high quality instrument with a wonderful sound with one volume and one tone control and a three way selector switch to alternate between the neck and bridge pickups. The pick ups sound top notch and were built by Seymour Duncan and are Duncan designed.
This is a rare opportunity to own a guitar connected to the Jimi Hendrix Experience with Noel Redding’s prized Squier Venus 12 String.
