Gibson RD 2007 Silverburst Guitar with Dirty Fingers Pickups + Gibson Hardcase

This Gibson RD Standard in Silverburst was part of a limited edition run in 2007, in a rare and in demand Silverburst finish. One of the coolest finishes Gibson have produced. The Silverburst finish has had a recent surge in popularity with the release of the Adam Jones from the band Tool Silverburst Gibson Les Paul. In 2007 Gibson were offering a new guitar every week with some awesome designs and this is no exception. This model quickly sold out and then put the Gibson Standard into full scale production in ebony.

The RD reissue sports 2 Dirty Fingers humbucker pickups. These Gibson pickups are extreme-output units designed for more of everything. They produce much more clarity and way more volume than a traditional humbucker with an incredibly aggressive, wide response. The Dirty Fingers pickups are wax-potted to eliminate unwanted microphonic feedback. This is a limited run of only 400 RD guitars from Gibson. The guitar comes complete with the original Gibson Hardcase with a luxurious white fluffy lining, handy compartment. The case was made in Canada for Gibson and still has the unused lock mechanism which can be set if desired. The guitar does not come with any paperwork but the proof is in the pudding!

The guitar is in great condition, the finish is Nitro Cellulose so it is designed to age naturally and responds to play wear like the classic guitars of the 1960’s. There is honest play wear on the guitar, no discernible chips, although there is a some wear on the back and medium size scratch and some play wear to the side of the body wear your strumming arm goes but other than it is pretty top notch. There is a hairline gap along the fretboard on both sides where the nitro finish as with time slackened from the fingerboard, this is common with a lot of guitars and nothing to worry about. There is a bit of finish wear either side of the nut, which is all purely cosmetic. The played in vibe gives this guitar lots of mojo and character.  The fretboard is very comfortable to play and the guitar is nicely weighted not to heavy, at 4.290KG. It has a 12″ fingerboard radius, 25.5″ scale length, 22 frets, 1.695″ nut width, rosewood fretboard and the mahogany body is warm and resonant. The pickups are particularly awesome which really pull the sound through, punchy, full and sound big whether clean or with gain. An excellent rare and rocking Gibson that is anything but run of the mill. Guaranteed to turn heads for all the right reasons!
